Families R.O.C.

Things are coming along quite swiftly/
rootie, i will e-mail you the accounting worksheets in the next day or two. as i said, they are not complex at all. basic income statement stuff. anyway, conrad-web site looks great. rootie, do you have to file for our tax ID number? is that done with the filing of the non profit org. papers? how long do you think that will take? just wondering, because with the way the adsense is coming along, we might want to have them cut us a check every quarter, maybe every month? anyway, things are going along great.
I think one of the next things we need to work on would be the donations? hope to get some ideas here, and put some into action right away? donations from runners is what i am talking about. how specifically would we like to do this?
How many "official familiesroc" races are we going to schedule for 2006? tentatively when should we plan for the innagural FamiliesROC half marathon? (1 or 2 years?)

just another quick thing,
once we do figure out how the revenue will be raised by our runners, we need to put that on the website. maybe even let them download a donation page and print it out themselves. for example, we want to bring families together to run...we want to raise money while you do this....this is how we are going to do it....? dont know just a thought
love you guys

Pop, you're in. Although Kristen tells me that Conrad is creating a separate blog that will be linked to the official site, so this site will likely die once that site gets up and running. Cue the tear :-(

E, yes I believe I need to apply for a fed. tax id number. I'm not sure how long it will take, but it shouldn't be too long. I'm booked up with work the next couple of days. Probably won't get to it until later in the week or this weekend.

Love you guys.

Brian -
This blog will be officially linked to the families roc website. There is also a message board on the website for current news, etc....
Eric's concern about this blog being on the official website is a good one though. He mentioned that it might not be a good idea professionally - with our comments and questions about raising money, etc...
So perhaps we should leave this blog for founding and contributing members? I don't know - I have no feelings either way really.

You're right. Eric's concern is a good one. We should shield the official web-site from this blog or email traffic re: organizational matters. Maybe we make this one a family only deal? I don't know. I'll keep it up for now because it's easy, free, and seems like a decent way to exchange ideas re: the whole organization.

This BLOG is a lot sexier than the message board on the site. I did put a BLOG link on the web last night. It works great. Eric has a good idea about having a donation form to download directly from the site. would this be good so that people can keep a copy for tax purposes?
I would like to finalize a calander for next year this week. I want to know from everyone if you think we should charge a flat fee for participation. Eric and I had the idea that we have a series of races in STL. You join familiesROC for 200$, you get automatic entry into five races, a t-shirt, waterbottle and training partners. We can ask that the races give us a break on the entry fees. Just an idea. It can culminate with the St Louis Marathon or Half.
Keep thinking about how we can involve entire families in this. I want kids etc....
What should I add to the site this week.
Kristen can you help with the bios?
Brian can you send an appropriate picture?
Nana do you know any other people who need to know about the program?
